BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Greenhouse Technician for an opportunity in Memphis, TN 38120

Position Title: Greenhouse Technician
Location: Memphis, TN 38120
Anticipated Start Date: 4/22/2024

Expected Duration: 1 year
Job Type: Full Time 40 Hours Contract, Onsite
Payrate: [16- 17/hr]
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Worker Schedule:
7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday, no weekends

Position Description:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Sampling genetically engineered plant tissue for DNA and Protein testing to screen for traits of interest.
• Planting engineered cotton seeds and maintaining suitable conditions for proper growth.
• Preparing buffer solution to extract protein from cotton leaf.
• Assisting in plant selection, transplanting, plant placement, trashing plants, and plant care.
• Candidates must work well with others, pay attention to detail, and be able to stand for long periods of time.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Must be able to work in hot greenhouse environment.
• Adhere to established safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards in the work area.
• Follow all safety and stewardship regulations.
